Hello everyone! Day 14 in Spellbinder's Crafty Advent Calendar is the cutest! Is this a Boston Terrier? Not sure but what I do know is that this is my favourite die set to date! I have created a colourful colour blocked card with a nod to Andy Warhol! ! So darling!
Be sure to check out the VIDEO TUTORIAL.
I began by die cutting all of the dogs out of a combination of dark grey and light grey card stock. The inside of the ears were cut from a pale pink. The scarves, bows. berets, hearts and stripes were cut from teal, fuchsia, yellow and blue card stock.
Using the same coloured card stock, rectangles were cut to 1 3/8“ x 2 1/4”. Black card stock was cut an eighth of an inch wider and longer than the colour rectangles for a thin border.
After assembling the dogs, the stripes were adhered directly to the coloured background and the dog positioned just above it.
The sentiments were chosen from the Day 13 stamp set and stamped in black ink in various positions above the dogs. The sentiments were highlighted with coloured hearts that matched the accessories of each dog.
The rectangular panels were adhered to dark gray card stock, focussing on the spacing between them. The larger panel was then trimmed down so that the border around the perimeter would be more or less the same as the spacing between the rectangular panels.
The card front was adhered to an A2 sized, black card base. To keep the borders around the perimeter consistent with the card front, the bottom of the card base was trimmed down.
