Alex Syberia Design's September Release

Hello everyone! Alex Syberia's September release includes gorgeous images just in time for earthy, fall cards and beautiful Christmas cards. Today I am featuring three of her designs.

This beautiful, autumn image was designed for slimline cards ... but not limited to! You could easily do this up on an A2 sized card. I began by printing the image on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb card stock and on masking paper. The image was cut out of the masking paper. I did not worry about fussy cutting the smaller images. After masking, the background was ink blended with Distress Oxide inks Evergreen Bough, Iced Spruce and Antique Linen.

The images were Copic coloured. I used quite a variety of markers! The panel and black card stock were die cut using the two largest dies in Pinkfresh Studio's Slim Stitched Rectangles Essentials. The panels were mounted on a 3 7/8" by 8 7/8" card base. The 'Thanks' die was cut from both matte gold card stock and black foam. The secondary sentiment was embossed in gold on black card stock and also stacked on the same foam. The berries were embellished with Nuvo Glitter Drops White Blizzard and several gold beads finished the card.

This digital stamp, also designed for slimline cards, was printed on Canson watercolor paper and a panel cut with the second largest die in Pinkfresh Studio's Slim Stitched Rectangles Essentials. I painted the background, wetting it first, with Ken Oliver's Liquid Metals Metallic Turquoise. I love the clear blue! When the background was completely dry, I painted all the images, except the bells, using a wet-on-wet technique with Dr. PH Martin's Bombay India Ink. While wet, the tone can be gradated. The india ink colours are bolder than water colours. The bells were painted with Gansai Tambi's Starry Colours and have a pretty sheen to them. Highlights and spattering were done with Winsor and Newton's White Gouache paint diluted with water.

The panel was adhered to black card stock cut from the largest stitched die from Slim Stitched Rectangles Essentials before being mounted on a 3 7/8" by 8 7/8" card base. After painting the holly leaves with Nuvo Glitter Drops White Blizzard, the sentiment, Merry Christmas by Simon Says Stamp, and Lawn Fawn's Little Music Notes were adhered to finish the card.

This A2 sized card was water coloured with Mijello Mission Gold ... the set I reach for most often! The painting is a loose, wet-on-wet technique meaning the paper is first painted liberally with water before the colour is dropped in and allowed to move on its own. Minimal detail painting and spattering followed when the panel was completely dry.

The panel was cut with the largest die in My Favorite Things' Stitched Rectangles Stax 2 and mounted on black card stock sized 4 1/8" by 5 3/8". The sentiments, Simon Says Stamp's Say It All Friend, were stamped; the main sentiment embossed in gold while the secondary sentiment was stamped with Onyx Black Versafine ink. The panel was adhered to an A2 sized card base; 4 1/4" by 5 ½".
