Have fun and good luck!

For this blog post I am focussing on 3 digital images ... the sweet Kokeshi Dolls ... Akemi, Fumiko and Mitsuki. My vision ... sweet, lacquered wooden dolls on a background that looks like fabric! At the end of this blog, pictures with a brief description are included of the cards made with the Precious Flowers and Wildflower Bouquet digi stamps.

To ensure the sizing of the dolls was correct for an A2 sized card, I first printed the images on copy paper before printing on Neenah Solar White 80lb card stock. I cut the copy paper images out to use as masks and die cut the panel with a stitched rectangular die.

The images were copic coloured. I used 3 groupings of colours in red, yellow and rose on all three dolls. I used several blue tones starting with the darkest around each doll and working toward the lightest on the outside edge of the card to begin my background. The listing of the markers used can be found under PRODUCTS. The dolls were glazed with Nuvo Crystal Glaze and left to dry completely.

I used the paper cut outs with some double-sided tape to mask each doll. The background was stamped with Simon Says Stamp's Modern Day Blooms using Faded Jeans distress oxide ink. I deepened the shadow around each doll with B99 and 95 . The panel was mounted on black card stock and adhered to a Neenah Solar White 110lb card base.

The sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's Say It All Friend was embossed using white embossing powder on black card stock. I used Simon Says Stamp's Sentiment Labels to die cut both the sentiment strip and black foam. The sentiment was adhered to the foam and attached to the panel.
