Hello, fellow crafters! Spellbinder's Stampendous Hugs Collection is absolutely adorable! Perfect for creating cards for the young and the 'young at heart'! My card features Stampendous Bear Hugs Die Set. This die set is the sweetest and is accompanied by a number of super cute accessories.
The bear was cut from both white and black card stock. I wanted to cut it apart and paper piece it to keep the panda in one layer. The two bears were stacked and the ears and head cut off .... oooo! That sounded brutal but when the bear was reassembled, the ears, head and body fit perfectly together.
This die was also used to cut black foam and the foam arms were trimmed off. The bear was assembled using the foam, armless die cut as a base. The black body, white head and black ears were paper pieced on the foam. The score lines where the arms meet the body were creased.
The eye die cuts from the black head were inlaid on the white head.
The details for the face are debossed on the head making it easy to position them. The cheeks and the inside of the ears were cut from pink card stock and the nose from black. The bear's tummy was cut from white card stock and the bear was finished off with a dark pink bow tie.
The banner from Stampendous Hugs Accesories Die Set was cut from pink card stock and stamped with Happy Birthday! from Stampendous Hugs Sentiments Stamp Set. The sentiment was positioned in the centre of the banner between the two score lines.
The score lines were creased so the two ends would fold over the front centre of the banner.
On either end of the banner, there are slits. The bear's paws have three digits. The lower two digits are slipped into the slit and adhered. I did one side, let the adhesive dry, folded the banner down and then adhered the other side. Have a look at this cute interactive feature in action!
For the background, a 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" panel of dark pink card stock was embossed with Candles for Every Birthday Embossing Folder. The candle flames were highlighted with Nuvo Glitter Drops White Blizzard and set aside to dry before it was adhered to an A2 sized card.
The foam backed bear was adhered to the card front.
The cute ' I 💓 U ' was adhered together coming out of a pink megaphone. A large foam square was placed under the wide end of megaphone and two stacked small foam squares under the heart. The stacked foam squares accommodate for the difference in height as the bear is foam mounted.
The mouth of the megaphone was adhered directly to the bear when the megaphone was positioned on the card.
The heart was given polka dots using Nuvo Crystal Drops Simply White and the 'I' and'U' were coated with Nuvo Glitter Drops White Blizzard.
