My card for this Blog Party features the newly released HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRUSH SCRIPT die set. All products linked in this post will direct you to more information and are made by Simon Says Stamp.
The Shaker
To begin, an A2 sized piece of sea glass card stock was stamped with Leaves and Berries using Versamark ink and embossed with WOW! Clear Sparkle embossing powder. This panel and some white sheet foam were die cut with the largest die of My Favorite Things' Stitched Rectangle Stax 2 and the shadow die from STAMPtember's HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRUSH SCRIPT die set. Acetate was adhered to the Happy Birthday opening and the embossed panel glued to the sheet foam. Schoolhouse red card stock was cut to an A2 size (4 1/4' X 5 ½") for the shaker backing. A mound of small silver sequins was placed on the red card stock where the shaker opening would be located. The foam backed, embossed panel was adhered to the red one creating the shaker. The shaker was attached to an A2 sized card base.
The Sentiment and Elements
The shadow cut out was die cut with the script die from the HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRUSH SCRIPT die set and dotted with Tombow glue. When left to dry, this glue is tacky and there is no need to worry about the glue smearing on the acetate when the sentiment is attached. The Etched Dragonfly was die cut from the same red card stock used for the shaker backing and coated with Cosmic Shimmer, Opal Blaze. Foam squares were placed under the wings and glue on the body to adhere it to the card.
The same small silver sequins used for the shaker material were used to embellish the card. Three large red sequins topped off with the clear drying Nuvo Crystal Drops, Morning Dew, draws attention to both the sentiment and dragonfly.
