Embossed Glittered Background with Simon Says Stamp

Hello everyone! I am still on the birthday card bandwagon using Simon Says Stamp's Happy Birthday Brush Script! Even when I think I am prepared for any occasion that arises with cards on hand, it seems every once and awhile I get 'caught' and I find myself scrambling. So here's me trying to avoid that possibility! I know ... good luck!

Today's card features a few Simon Says Stamp's products ... Happy Birthday Brush Script, Outline Leaves, Fresh Daisies and Etched Dragonfly. I am back to making more glitter paper but with a twist ... it will become an embossed background. So here we go!

A piece of sturdy Neenah Classic Crest 110lb card stock was covered with Sookwang double-sided tape. Martha Stewart's Aquamarine Crystal, a fine glitter, was applied to the panel. The panel was sandwiched in a folded piece of copy paper and burnished with a bone folder and rolled back and forth a couple of times in the die cutting machine. This method produces glitter paper with no fall out! The glitter paper was stamped with Simon Says Stamp's Outline Leaves using Versamark ink and embossed with WOW! Opaque White embossing powder in a stamping platform. The panel was trimmed to 3 3/4" by 4 1/4" to fit a scalloped rectangular die cut panel of white card stock.The scalloped panel was adhered to white sheet foam. The glitter panel was die cut with the shadow die from Happy Birthday Brush Script and glued to the scalloped panel. The layered panel was then attached to a card base.

The happy birthday script die from Happy Birthday Brush Script was cut from the shadow die cut. The sentiment was dotted with Tombow glue and left to dry. The tacky sentiment was then attached to the shadow area of the card. Simon Says Stamp's Fresh Daisies and Etched Dragonfly were die cut from white card stock and adhered to the card. White foam squares were used to give the dragonfly's wings some dimension. The card was embellished with a few opaque white crystals.
